There are only 100

Finding your place can be intimidating—even a niche like “developer relations” can feel saturated, especially in a startup environment where a new launch video is live every other hour

But if you can find your niche and scope down to a reasonable surface area, you might find a smaller community than you once thought

There are ~100 developer relations professionals in the SF Bay Area. There are ~10 that work in AI coding agents. There’s 1 that lifts weights and is on twitter all the time 😉

I moved to the Bay Area two years ago to set myself apart. That turned out to be a good decision, but your decision might look different.

What actions can you take today to move towards “That Thing” where you are 1 of 100. What about 1 of 1?
